Vegan & Cruelty Free Summer Skincare

Welcome to the new tedisarah.com!! I’m so happy to have you here and to kick off my blog re-launch with a post all about my vegan and cruelty free summer skincare favorites. Everything featured here is clean, natural, cruelty free and effective. These products are my tried-and-true favorites that I continue to go back to every summer (if not all year round!). I switch some of my products up seasonally since in NYC (and every other place I’ve ever lived like Minneapolis, Chicago and Boston), it’s dry in the winter and warm and humid in the summer. In the summer I also wear less makeup, so making sure my skin is in tip top shape is key.

Here are my vegan and cruelty free skincare faves for keeping my skin looking its best all summer long.

Cleanser: Youth to the People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser

My favorite face wash for summer is this Youth to the People superfood antioxidant cleanser. It’s nice and light and leaves my skin feeling so clean every time I use it. I first tried it out in Miami for my sister’s wedding and it worked like a charm to cleanse my face after long days in the sun and even worked great to get all my wedding makeup off too. Now I use it daily. It comes in an 8 oz container and a small travel size container as well.

Daily Peels: Indie Lee Radiance Renewal Peels & Gentle Daily Peels

These daily peels are great! They’re like a little gentle peel to balance and brighten, so I use them most mornings in the summer to wake up my skin. They leave my face the perfect texture to soak in my morning serum and moisturizer that I put on next. I use the stronger radiance renewal peels daily, but Indie Lee also makes a gentle daily peel, which is great for more sensitive skin.

Morning Serum: Osea Hyaluronic Sea Serum

Every morning in the summer I use the Osea hyaluronic sea serum. Its job is to boost moisture to help replenish the skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. I also love it because it leaves the prettiest sheen on my skin. It looks great under makeup or by itself. I use it every single morning.

Toner: Indie Lee CoQ10 Toner

In the evening after washing my face I use this toner. It’s my ultimate favorite toner year round. It helps to balance the skin and is a little stronger than the peel pads. I love the way it leaves my skin feeling. I spray it directly onto these wipes and then rub it into my skin. This toner is an essential for me every evening before putting my night time serum on.

Evening Serum: Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil

My new favorite serum for the evening is Youth to the People’s superberry hydrate + glow oil. It’s loaded with antioxidants and leaves skin feeling soft, hydrated and glowy. My skin feels so good after I use it and I can just feel it soaking up all the superberry antioxidants and nutrients. Some face oils make my skin breakout, but never this one.

Moisturizer: KORRES Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening 24H Moisturizer

You guys have seen me post about this moisturizer before because it’s truly a staple in my skincare routine. I’ve tried lots of others, but always go back to this one. It’s just the perfect soft, light, whipped texture. I use this in my morning skincare routine and at night too. Some of the products in the Korres line have dairy in them (no, thank you!), so skip those. This one is of course vegan.

Sunscreen: MyChelle Sun Shield Liquid Non-Tinted, MyChelle Sun Shield Liquid Tint, MyChelle Replenishing Solar Defense Body Lotion

My favorite sunscreen is MyChelle’s sun shield liquid non-tinted SPF 50. It goes on light and never clogs my pores. MyChelle also makes a tinted face SPF too. It’s the same formula, just with a tint. And my favorite body SPF is by MyChelle too. They all go on light, give great protection and are reef safe too, which is great if you’re going in the ocean. 🙂

Eye Cream: Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme

Each night before bed I use the Tata Harper restorative eye cream on the skin under and above my eyes. It minimzes the look of fine lines and wrinkles around the eye for a healthy and youthful look. I first found this product at an event at Follain, a clean beauty store here in New York City, and have been loving it ever since. Follain is only in a few cities right now, with two locations in NYC, but you can buy all their clean beauty products on line, so definitely check them out. All the brands they carry are cruelty free too!

Face Mask: Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial

My current favorite face mask is the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sakuri babyfacial mask. I had heard so many good things about this brand and this product before trying it out in the spring. This AHA/BHA face mask was created to be like a mini facial in a bottle and it leaves my skin feeling that post facial smoothness and glow. It’s strong so only use it once a week, and don’t leave it on for more than 20 minutes. It also comes with a little bottle of their virgin marula luxury facial oil to put on after you use it. It’s an excellent mask to liven up your skin every week.

Those are all my top summer skincare faves! These skincare products with a little bit of a summer tan, and my favorite 7 in 1 vegan and cruelty-free mascara by Pacifica, are the perfect combination for a clean, healthy, glowy summer look. 🙂
