Who would’ve known it’s so hard to find vegan-friendly slippers?! I certainly didn’t until it got cold here and I realized I really needed a pair and they were all made of animal products. Most of the brands that dominate the slipper game use suede on the outside and shearling (which is wool from sheep) on the inside. It goes without saying, I’m not into that!
So I did some serious searching on the internet and found these slippers that are so comfortable and so warm. (They genuinely make me so happy every time I put them on…sometimes it’s all about those simple pleasures in life, right?!) Mine are sherpa (faux shearling) on the outside and the softest, buttery faux fur on the inside. The brand that makes my pair has many options with real suede and real shearling, so buying these shows them: we want more products that are vegan-friendly, and less that are made of animals!
And because so many of you reached out saying you’d been looking for suede-free/shearling-free slippers too after I posted mine on Instagram, I’ve rounded up all the softest, coziest ones I could find. Very excited to find your post here! I am confused by the first pair of slippers though that are ASOS pink slides. I clicked on the link and the product description says 100% real leather and that it has a soft shearling upper. Am I missing something? I’m confused…
Hi Emily! That’s strange! This is an older post so I’m guessing the slippers got restocked at some point and mislabeled when they went back up on ASOS, either way I’m going to delete those ones from his post. The rest should be good and animal-friendly! 🙂 🙂 Thanks for letting me know! -Tedi
