The Best Faux Shearling of 2017

Does anyone else remember their mom rocking big oversized shearling coats in the late 80s/early 90s? My mom wore those things like a boss. And guess what, this year they were all over the runways at New York Fashion Week.

But there’s one major downside to the resurgence of this trend. Shearling and suede, which are often paired together, both come from sheep and are cruelly sourced. So after seeing that this style was back in a big way, I decided to do some research and see if there were any kinder, vegan alternatives. And omg you guys, I could not believe how many gorgeous, high quality faux shearling and faux suede coats are out there!

All these coats are so in this season. And they’re warm as can be so they’re a perfect addition to your late fall and winter wardrobe. I am most excited to show my mom this post (already texted her and told her to get ready for it) because I have so many fond memories of her looking so cool in this style! And how happy that now we can all rock them without harming any animals in the process. 🙂

xo,

Tedi

I love all of these fashion posts. The food aspect of being vegan is easy but I struggle finding vegan beauty and fashion items. Thankful for your posts on the subject 🙂
