Fall Gala: Great Chefs Cook for Healthy School Food

Gala

Did you know that New York is home to the first two vegetarian public schools in the country?! Well, The Coalition for Healthy School Food is a wonderful organization that was instrumental in making that happen. The Coalition for Healthy School Food is devoted to making our children healthier and our food choices more sustainable. They are truly working to change the face of nutrition in our schools. The Coalition educates students, staff and families about plant-based nutrition and provides schools with the resources they need to adopt plant-based menus. Here are some of the Coalition’s amazing initiatives and accomplishments:

As you can see, The Coalition for Healthy School Food is doing great work to make a difference in our world. So, I wanted to let all you East Coasters know that Tuesday, October 6th is an exciting opportunity to support The Coalition for Healthy School Food by attending their Fall Gala tasting event! The event will honor the principals from the two vegetarian schools here in New York and the evening will be hosted by TV journalist Jane Velez-Mitchell and Pulitzer-prize winning New York Times reporter and author of Salt Sugar Fat, Michael Moss. The delicious plant-based food for the evening will be provided by some of the best plant-based chefs and restaurants in the region. It is a fantastic opportunity to support a wonderful cause! You can learn more about the Fall Gala and purchase tickets for the evening here
