Eat Pastry: Cookie Dough + Baking Mixes

How amazing does raw cookie dough taste? Let’s be real…it’s SO good. The taste of cookie dough reminds me so much of my childhood…I just loved when my mom would make cookies after school and let me taste the batter.Eat PastrySo, a few weeks back I was browsing the aisles of Whole Foods when out of the corner of my eye I saw a little plastic tub that said “Eat Pastry Cookie Dough” in the refrigerated section. I grabbed it and saw it said “egg-free, dairy-free and made in a dedicated vegan facility.” YES! This actually happens more and more at the grocery store, I see new products, say a silent prayer, like “OMG that looks amazing, please be vegan!” and then much to my excitement, it is. Plant-based foods have certainly been making their way into the mainstream. But, back to the cookie dough, I saw the word “vegan” and was literally thrilled…because ladies and gentleman, vegan cookie dough means cookie dough you can eat raw without getting sick! So, this was a product I just knew I had to tell you guys about. Who wouldn’t love that?

Something about the name Eat Pastry just felt like it commanded me to eat the raw dough as soon as I got home…like it was a subliminal message telling me, “[you] eat [this] pastry [now]! (And, pause for a minute, cookie dough is still cookie dough and it’s not the same as eating a big, nice, healthy kale salad, obviously. But eating vegan cookie dough is a whole lot “less” bad for us than eating regular cookie dough.) So, I had my first bite and cried tears of joy because it was so freaking amazing. I made some actual cookies too because let’s not forget, that’s what the cookie dough is for. 😉

Eat PastryRight away after indulging in the cookie dough I got out my computer to write the founders of Eat Pastry, Jessie and Alfredo, to tell them how much I love their product and appreciate what they’re all about (cruelty-free deliciousness). Jessie and Alfredo met in pastry school, and later went on to start Eat Pastry together in Jessie’s parents’ basement. Eat Pastry has just continued to grow and grow since then to where it is today! I’ve talked with Jessie and she’s nice as can be. Eat Pastry says that their goal is to make sure everything they create tastes good and isn’t made from crap. That simple.

Their cookie dough flavors are chocolate chip, chocoholic chip, peanut butter chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin chocolate chip, gluten-free chocolate chip, gluten-free snickerdoodle, and gluten-free sugar mama. And in addition to cookie dough they’ve got new gluten-free baking mixes, which I got to try out.

Eat PastryThe baking mixes are for gluten-free muffins, gluten-free chocolate cake and gluten-free biscuits. I had a baking marathon this past weekend and tried them all out. I made mini cupcakes from the cake mix with a coconut cream icing, muffins with blueberries and raspberries and biscuits with jam. How can you go wrong with any of that?

Eat PastryThe baking mixes are a great way for anyone following a gluten-free diet to still be able to indulge in delicious pastries. And today over on my instagram account we are giving away a baking mix of your choice to one lucky winner! Head over there for details (@tedi.sarah).
