A bit HIPPY

A bit HIPPYThere’s a fabulous new Australian skin care company in town that goes by the name A bit HIPPYThey are, as you can tell from their name, a little bit hippy. As they explain it, “We aren’t really hippies, we just have hippy tendencies like believing that natural is more wholesome than synthetics, and trying to minimize the environmental impact when we make things.” And they believe that what goes on the body is just as important as what goes in the body. As soon as I heard the name of this company I knew these products were right up my alley. A bit HIPPY really embodies everything I’m all about. I might look a little bit hippy on paper…I don’t like synthetic things in my food or my products, I eat a vegan diet, I love animals, I’m into alternative medicine, and I care about the environment….but if you saw me in person, my clothes and my dyed blonde hair don’t exactly scream hippy!

The products are healthy and natural while also being safe and effective. They don’t have strong synthetic smells (obviously) and instead often smell like whatever natural products are in them. Many of their products are safe for adults and babies too. And their products are all suited for people with irritated or sensitive skin. Plus, if you read their labels they are quite funny. Like this excerpt from the back of their moisturizing lotion: “Directions: The rules are we MUST include directions. So to please the man, here we go…It’s a moisturizer! Rub it into your skin. If it’s your first time ever, chat to the supple skinned health nut next to you and ask how to use moisturizers.” Makes me laugh. As do the little illustrations on their products. So, all this said, here are some of my favorite A bit HIPPY products.

A bit HIPPYThe Rice and Fresh Face and Body Wash is stellar. My skin is so soft after I get out of the shower, even before I put moisturizer on. They originally created this formula as a face wash but then decided it was so great that our bodies don’t deserve anything less! So now it’s a 2-in-1 face wash/body wash.

A bit HIPPYThe Don’t Act Your Age Anti-Ageing Face Moisturizer might be my favorite A bit HIPPY product. (And no I didn’t misspell aging…this is an Australian company and they spell it different over there!). A bit HIPPY explains that the biggest factors in skin aging are skin oxidation, skin dryness and too much sun. So, they created this face moisturizer to target all those factors. It’s full of antioxidants, vitamins and soothing oils. I am obsessed with the texture because it comes out thick and instantly melts into a whipped cream like silky smooth texture when it touches your warm skin. And it leaves the most beautiful subtle sheen on your face.

The Scalp Loving Ditchin the Itchin Shampoo & Say No to Silicone Scalp Loving Conditioner deliver fantastic results. The shampoo has natural, low irritation cleansers like honey and apple cider vinegar that leave hair clean and shiny. The conditioner might be one of my favorite all natural conditioners ever. Sometimes natural conditioners aren’t as great at getting rid of tangles as the conditioners that are loaded with synthetic chemicals. It’s still so worth it to use natural products but it is a little annoying when you wash your hair. But, this conditioner is all natural and it gets rid of all those tangles, which was very exciting to me!

A bit HIPPYHere’s my hair after washing and conditioning with A bit HIPPY. Looks pretty healthy and shiny, doesn’t it? I threw a dime size bit of oil on the ends, roughly blow-dried it and then ran my curling iron through it. And don’t forget, my hair is not naturally blonde so it’s looking very healthy for everything I do to it, thanks to great shampoos and conditioners like these.

A bit HIPPYAnd finally, the Soothing and Improving Moisturizer is great for the very dry parts of your body. Its job is to help keep skin healthy and hydrated while calming any inflammation or irritations. And it does just that.

A bit HIPPY is a wonderful brand. They ship around the world and are just setting up shop in Los Angeles. I expect we will be seeing them all around the U.S. in no time!

xo,

Tedi

P.S. As always, you know if you’re seeing it here, their products are never tested on animals.
